#242: A Conversation with Kathleen Pluth

Today we have the pleasure of speaking to Kathleen Pluth, whose hymn text, "Let the Earth Acclaim Christ Jesus," was chosen as the official hymn for the 2024 National Eucharistic Congress, taking place in just a few weeks in Indianapolis, Indiana. Today we speak of the inspiration Kathleen has found to author hymn texts, and how she was inspired to write the award-winning text.

Bio: Kathleen Pluth

Kathleen Pluth, MA, STL, is a Phoenix-based hymn writer, translator, and editor. The inaugural Hymn Consultant for the Word on Fire Liturgy of the Hours monthly, her publications include Hymns for the Liturgical Year (CanticaNOVA Publications, 2005) and Hymn Tune Introits: Singing the Sundays of the Liturgical Year (WLP/GIA, 2015). As a parish and school Director of Sacred Music, she prioritized the musical development of volunteer choirs of adults, teens, and children. Her hymn texts appear frequently in Magnificat.
